Introducing: Lao Lao's Fruit Stand

My mom's brand spankin' new Etsy shop is named Lao's Lao's Fruit Stand.

Managed by my sister and me, the shop offers phone and bag charms and jewelry that my mom makes in her signature whimsical palette. We were happy to support her on this endeavor after she got into making these items in recent months.

It brings me back to the 2010s, when I started my current Etsy shop as a way to offer the baby booties and baby clothing that she was crocheting at the time. As a homage to those roots, I still offer some items in my shop even though the focus has shifted overwhelmingly toward my work. The quality of her work is really quite impressive, and it's especially apparent up-close and in person. Crochet booties have a tough time selling online however when you can't pick them up and see just how tiny and adorable they are, and so she eventually sunset that project once we were no longer able to attend local craft fairs where they sold very well.

What's amazing is that even though the category is different this time, I can immediately tell that my mom made the items on offer at Lao Lao's Fruit Stand. She has an eye for color combinations that summon joy, and I've benefited from some color-therapy simply from photographing her products.
