Seashell Jar

Lidded jar made from speckled clay. Formed on the wheel as a single piece and separated into jar and lid during the trimming stage.

The knob on this design is a hand-shaped ceramic cockle shell. Can be used as a small vessel and will hold a ring, earrings, tiny seashells. Jars are glazed in ash on the interior and exterior, and the shells are finished in white glaze.
