Thoughts, behind the scenes, goings on, life lately.
One of my very first forays into the entrepreneurial world was a door to door endeavor where I peddled hand drawn bookmarks cut from poster board and tied with yarn tassels to my sweet neighbors, who actually bought a few. It ended after I'd knocked on every door on the block, probably because I wasn't yet allowed to cross the street by myself.
Bookmarks. I haven't used one since childhood, preferring instead to dog-ear the page of the book or periodical where I leave off. Still, I often save stories, inspiring pictures, recipes, projects, et al. either by bookmarking on my phone, in my Instagram collections, or just by emailing myself links.
Et alia will be a space for the miscellanies that catch my eye, where I can share discoveries, interests, and newfound happy things.
Chef's Table Season 3 - France
We've watched each season of this Netflix show. I love the dramatic openings set to classical music, and the dreamy, memory-based narration in each episode. This season is focused on French chefs, and starting it this weekend has made me all the more excited to visit France for the first time in a couple of months.
Rifle Paper Co.
I LOVE RIFLE PAPER CO. We have their pineapple wallpaper up on the accent wall in our dining nook, we used Rifle Paper invitations and Thank You postcards for our wedding, and I'm currently using one of their agendas as my daily planner. I'm in love these new Love forever stamps from the company. If we hadn't majorly lucked out with a perfectly timed collection of stamps featuring vintage botanical prints from the the NYBG (our venue) archive for our wedding, I would have been so bummed that these didn't come out a year earlier. I picked up a sheet of 20 when I stopped by the post office this weekend, and am happy that I get to keep and use them over time.

Another Rifle Paper partnership I'm eyeing is the Keds x Rifle Paper sneaker collection. I have a pair from last year, but am drooling over the leather trimmed white floral and the blush pink floral styles from the new spring collection that just dropped.
fleur du mal
This is the black bra of my dreams. Lace, leather, sleek straps. Next time I have an extra $225 lying around.. I probably still won't buy this. But I do enjoy that it's out there and exists IRL.

Slow Cooker Hearty Chicken Soup
We made this recipe from Half Baked Harvest last weekend and from it I got several dinners and work lunches. It was hearty and it was delicious. The only thing I'd change the next time is to stagger the vegetables throughout the cook time so that some cook longer than others. Perhaps this is because we made it using our dutch oven and not a slow cooker, but the celery and potatoes (we added a couple in) could have benefited from retaining a little more body.

Bar Crenn
I watched Chef Dominique Crenn's episode of Chef's Table yesterday; it moved me to tears and gave me a new pin to place on my mental map of San Francisco. Today, I learned that she's opened up Bar Crenn, a wine bar next door to her 8-seat Atelier Crenn restaurant. When can we go to SF again?
